Surrealism
Surrealism often appears chaotic, yet if one takes the time to explore its depth, the meaning gradually emerges. My project Echoes of the Mind draws inspiration from Sigmund Freud's ideas, embodying my personal interpretation of surrealism's transparency and darkness. Through these images, I sought to express my vision using self-portraiture and long-exposure techniques. The goal was to invite viewers to see surrealism through my lens, encouraging them to uncover the layers of meaning within.

The Project Discovering the Soul of Bali consists of various photographs, which represent my documentary work during my stay in Bali. Through them, I aimed to capture the essence of Bali's unique culture, highlighting the richness of its nature, people, and traditions. Each image reflects the vibrant diversity that defines the island, showcasing its serene landscapes, the warmth of its people, and the deep-rooted customs that shape their way of life. Working on this project made me reflect on the vast differences between cultures around the world and emphasized the importance of understanding and learning from these differences, even when our worldviews may not align.
A Minute Before the Distaster
As the years flew by, these photographs were the only memories that were left of her. The young newlyweds went on a trip to the black sand beaches 23 years ago to celebrate their anniversary. The sun was shining, and the ocean was calm, as the lovers approached the beach of the unknown history. Everything seemed rather peaceful and calm, like the lull before the storm.
Once they settled on the black sand, the woman asked her husband to take photos of her. Smiles lit up their faces as they captured each moment, losing track of time until it was almost time to leave. However, the man proposed to stay over the night and enjoy the view of the stars above. With the doubt in her eyes, the young woman agreed, and the couple spent the night on the beach.
The sun rises in the sky, and a young man opens his eyes and looks around. He notices that there is no sign of his wife. As the newlywed starts anxiously searching for the love of his life, desperately running around the beach with the hope of finding his wife, the ocean becomes louder and louder. The waves are becoming monsters devouring all the sand and flooding the beach. When the man realizes the woman is nowhere to be seen, he decides to run away as far as possible. As the tide rises and floods the beach, the only thing he has time to grab are the last memories of her - the photos.
The Minute Before the Disaster combines a fashion photoshoot with a narrative about a young couple. While the images appear bright and pleasant, the story behind them is dark and ominous. To evoke a sense of time and nostalgia, I added a grain effect and enhanced the color contrast in each shot. At first glance, the photos may seem simple and serene, but after reading the story, they reveal a layer of nostalgia and mystery.
